There’s a stretch of 6 separate 96-sheet billboards near Earls Court, opposite from where I work. As they’re all positioned right next to each other, brands with money to burn can use it as a single long canvas, usually involving 3D modelling and fancy lighting.
BP have been using it for the last week or so, but today it was pretty much ruined. It now has black paint spattered across each billboard, including the huge 3D Olympic flame in the centre, and a spray painted URL which leads to a website that features photos of other BP ads that look like they’re covered in oil.
Apparently it wasn’t there this morning, so I’m mostly mentioning this online because it must have taken serious balls to walk across 6 billboard platforms on West Cromwell Road in broad daylight and throw paint over an Olympic sponsors campaign.
